  17.      _I_R_I_S _A_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r is an authoring environment for annotating 3D models.
  18.      _A_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r is based on a 3D geometry viewer for viewing and manipulating
  19.      3D models.  Analogous to 2D redlining, it also allows you to annotate the
  20.      models using 3D markers.  You then create and/or import multi-media notes
  21.      that present additional information about the model, and attach them to
  22.      the markers.  Finally, you can save the annotated model, and mail it to
  23.      others for their review.

  25.      _A_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r optionally takes a filename on the command line. The file can
  26.      be an Inventor file or an _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r file from a previous session.  By
  27.      default, _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r starts up with an empty scene if a file is not
  28.      specified. The File menu allows you to Open or Import files.

  33.      The following command line options apply to _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r:

  35.        ----RRRR      Replace _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r'_s current scene with the one in the specified
  36.                file.  If no _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r process is running, start one.
  37.  
  38.        ----rrrr      Same as the -R option, but mark the specified scene as new.
  39.                When you subsequently save the scene in _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r it will not
  40.                overwrite the file specified on the command line.  Instead, you
  41.                will be prompted for a file name for the saved scene.

  43.        ----eeee      Start up in edit mode. By default, _a_n_n_o_t_a_t_o_r starts up in
  44.                view-only mode if a file is specified, and edit mode if the
  45.                initial scene is empty.  Use the Edit toggle under the Edit
  46.                menu to switch between edit mode and view-only mode.

  49.                playback (default is to play them, unless user id is root).
  50.                This can be used to prevent potentially dangerous system calls

  75.      temporary files on disk.  By default, these files are placed in your
  76.      /usr/tmp directory. Setting the environment variable TTTTMMMMPPPPDDDDIIIIRRRR allows you to
  77.      specify a different directory for these files.
